HERE ARE SOME OF THE COURSES I RUN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

Basic Vegetable Gardening for Beginners –

This course is popular and is held regularly throughout the year. It covers all aspects of fruit and vegetable gardening, from choosing a site, soil identification, preparation, seed sowing, space saving ideas and how and when to harvest.  No matter what size plot you have from balcony to larger garden, this course suits all and with a little organisation it is easy to grow your own fruit and vegetables.

Each morning course lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours, I usually begin at 10.00am with hot drinks and yummy seasonal muffins,  finishing 12:30pm in time for you to enjoy the local amenities if you have come from afar. The courses with lunch start at 10am with the same refreshments and end at 2:30pm after a lunch of homegrown delights.

For those of you who want to make the most of lovely Sussex, then I am able to recommend some great local pubs, restaurants, villages and gardens and don’t forget you can alway stay in The Barn our very own B&B.

Seasonal Sowing  – All Levels

These courses are run throughout Autumn, Spring and Summer and suit all levels of gardeners. A few basics about the relevant season is covered then I talk about all the vegetables and fruit you can sow and grow, I recommend particular varieties that have been tried and tested, including where to purchase top quality seeds and plants check out here. How to fill your patch successionally and to avoid a glut is highlighted plus short cuts and top tips on growing and getting the very best from your plants for as long as possible.

Flowers for The Cutting Patch – All Levels

How to set up a cut flower patch for most of the seasons, Flowers For The Cutting Patch is usually run in September, October, November, March, April, May and June.  This course helps you understand annuals, biennials and perennials allowing you to plan a productive cut flower patch from March to November.  Once the basics are explained,e.g. seed sowing, then varieties which are highly productive are recommended along with instructions of how and when to plant, aftercare and how to harvest the flowers. The right time of day to pick them is important and so is vase preparation, all this is covered to give your home grown beauties a long life.

How Much?

Courses with lunch are £60.00 10am-2:30pm.

Morning courses are £45.00 10am-12:30pm
