I am passionate about growing fruit and vegetables, completely self taught I realise it is not difficult to ‘grow your own’, you just need a little organisation and to be aware of the seasons. I am lucky to have a part walled vegetable garden, totally neglected when we bought our property but now it is brimming over with a variety of edibles. We renovated a dilapidated, leaky greenhouse and doubled the vegetable beds, then set about growing all the things my family loved plus a few unusual vegetables and salads to tempt them with!
The vegetable patch took shape quite quickly and proved to be extremely productive in it’s first year. A lot of my friends started coming to me for advice and one of them suggested that I run a couple of mornings teaching them how to set up a vegetable garden and sharing my tips with them. These courses have proved a big success, so much so that I now run an ever growing number throughout the year, not solely for vegetable and fruit growing but also more general gardening techniques.
I now offer consultancy for clients who have inherited a vegetable garden and don’t know where to start or for those clients who wish to set up a vegetable garden and are unsure where to site it. Please email me info@parkers-patch.com if you wish to engage my help.

I write a monthly article “Veg On The Ledge’ for Leon Restaurants website, it’s an opportunity to share my vegetable growing love for the city dweller, balcony gardener or anyone with a pot or two or three.
